A full moon rises over the Mojave Desert
Houses seen along the Mojave "River"
A Long Road
Sand dunes along the Mojave River
The Mojave riverbed, complete with 4 wheeler tracks
The famous Mojave River. Notice the dry riverbed behind it.
The Mojave Desert. Beautiful. Desolate.
Desert nature
Joshua Tree
The only trees we saw all day.
The landscape had no vegetation. No wildlife to be seen.
Windmills are a main energy source for the state of California. They are found up and down the valleys as you pass through the desert.
Big daddy windmill.
the landscape.
My favorite picture of the day.
This guy was waving at us like crazy. I don't think they get many visitors!

It looks like my wish for happy trails has come true, buckaroos. Try to imagine a bunch of cowpokes making a living running cattle out there. Maybe that landscape was the setting for the song "Ghost Riders onthe Sky".
ReplyDeleteI love the "Sand dunes along the Mojave River" photo!
